For what quite possibly may be the last time, the old Chesterfield Elementary School opened its doors on Thursday to the public in an effort to reduce the amount of wasted school equipment and supplies. All the leftover materials from the auction/sale in late June, such as tables, large desks, chairs, cabinets, and more were available free of charge to the public. There was not a large turnout, and unfortunately, WBNC was not allowed to promote the event ahead of time.
