John L. Hodgkinson, 52, of Chesterfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday after a 10-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born and raised on Long Island, NY, he recently settled in Chesterfield, NJ. He graduated from East Islip High School. John proudly served as Okaloosa County EMS shift commander from 1995 to 2001. More recently, he served Capital Health Systems as an EMS shift supervisor. John had dedicated over 30 years to EMS, served as a volunteer firefighter in New York and, more recently, with Chesterfield Hose Company Station 267.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Alisa (Theberge) Hodgkinson; his daughters, Megan and Amanda; his mother, Delores Spade; his sister, Susan and her husband, Javier; his brother, Rick; his aunts, Mary Flatley, and Pat Coleman; his in-laws, Donna and Barry Theberge; his brothers-in-law, Douglas and Jeffrey Theberge; his nephews, Ricky, Johnny and Javier Jr., and his nieces, Darlene and Kasey. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow’s Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
