Below is a message from the Chief of Police on the upcoming snow storm:
Residents, I am sure everyone is aware of the current and potential snow accumulation over the next day or so but here is what we know now. Depending on the track the storm takes we could see anywhere from 6 inches to a foot or more, with blowing/drifting snow picking up in the next few hours and throughout the night. With that being said I am urging everyone, if you don't have to go out, please stay home. Also I want to remind everyone per Twp. Ordinance 164-4 residents are required to remove the snow from their sidewalks within 12 hours after daylight after the snow has fallen in excess of 2 inches. And per Twp. Ordinance 182-13 whenever snow has accumulated in such that it covers the street , no vehicles shall be parked on either side of the roadway within the Township. It goes on to say that vehicles parked on the roadway while snow covered will be deemed a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and will be towed at the owners expense. I am putting this reminder out to everyone to please take all necessary steps to comply. It make the jobs of the Department of Public Works and all first responders safer while protecting your assets/liability. Thank you all for your immediate attention to this matter.
