Northern Administration officials have released plans to meet with the community on October 15th, at 5:30pm, to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the referendum.
Below is the official release from nburlington.com today.
As you know, the “Building Excellence” Bond referendum has failed. Over the next few months, there will be much discussion on how to address the many high school facility needs that were outlined in the project. As Superintendent of Schools, I will work closely with the Northern Burlington County Regional School Board to formulate various community focus groups and discuss these facility needs to determine appropriate remedial measures.
With this in mind, the Board of Education and I will meet with all community groups including our parents of students Pre K - 12, our business leaders, our alumni, and those who do not have or no longer have children in the schools. We will listen to the concerns expressed and accept recommendations on how to move forward with plans to address the Northern Burlington County Regional High School facility needs.
On Thursday October 15th at 6:30 PM, the Northern Burlington County Regional High School has an Open House scheduled for all parents in the district including the parents of Elementary and Middle School Children. In the past, this has always been an exciting evening and well attended. I thought this could be a nice opportunity to possibly meet with parents planning on attending this Open House. Therefore, I’ve decided to make arrangements to be in the 500 building at 5:30 PM, one hour before the Open House is scheduled to start, to meet any parents who wish to share their thoughts, ideas, and reflections on the “Building Excellence” project. The agenda is open and the time will be yours.
Please mark your calendar for Thursday, October 15th at 5:30 PM in the High School 500 building. I would like to provide this opportunity to sit with parents and share some reflection on the Building Excellence Project. Again, this meeting is conveniently scheduled just prior to the High School Open House that will begin at 6:30 PM on October 15th. Information on the Open House is being processed and communicated under separate cover.
I’m excited to be taking the ‘next step’ towards ‘Building Excellence’ in the region. Let’s work together to define our preferred future regarding high school facility needs.
James Sarruda, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
