BORDENTOWN & CROSSWICKS, NJ -
Activists from Chesterfield, Bordentown, and from all over, started at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church at noon today and marched to the site of the proposed compressor station, about 0.5 miles away by road.
The organization who held the march, People Over Pipelines, hoped to raise awareness of the pipeline and the compressor station, and invited local officials and local news organizations.
Several people spoke about the pipeline such as Chesterfield Twp Committeeman Alex Robotin, NJ Assemblyman Ronald Dancer, Outreach Manager for the Pinelands Preservation Alliance Geoff Richter and many residents from throughout Chesterfield and Bordentown.
"The amount of gas they are proposing to ship out has nothing to do with meeting the needs of their current customers," Geoff Richter spoke out while at the compressor station site. "It's only for profit."
